Dezintegrarea bucatii de 257 de km patrati situata in Antarctica a inceput la sfarsitul lunii februarie. Aceasta era marginea faliei Wilkins – prezenta aici de aproape 1500 de ani. Cauza este incalzirea globala. Cercetatorii anticipeaza ca Wilkins se va prabusi in cel mult 15 ani.
